I've never used Mobil 0W-40, or any LL-01 spec oil and I haver never had any issues. Just did my VANOS & VCG about two months ago and the top end was nice and clean. 135K miles.

The car is not totaled. Body shops straighten frames all the time. Having said that, I wouldn't redneck it by attempting it yourself.
