It sounds like its very inconvenient for you, but you need to get this car to a dealer and let them do some diagnostics on it so you know exactly what you're dealing with instead of guessing....

I changed the fuel filter and have a local parts...

I changed the fuel filter and have a local parts place getting me a pump.
It won't be OEM but hopefully should still do the job.

New guy here. Been reading lots of threads about E46s that won't start.
I have a '00 328i with about 100k on it.
My wife took the car on a very short drive today and then jumped in about an hour...
