Right - I was going to run the main trigger from the ECU connection to a switch, then to the relay, and run the secondary trigger to the hot side of the footwell light.

Correct -- it's from an old "BMW Motosport" series of motorcycles. The color scheme, as I recall, was mainly white. Mid to late 80s, I believe.
