Hi Andy, I am wondering if that is one of the o2 Sensors, mine on a 2000 has a similar issue 2 year back and was found to be pre-cat sensor on exhaust. Hope this helps!

Ah, skimming here is 200, not sure how much there! That back rad could well be the issue too mate, worth trying and if it works its a cheaper fix than head gasket!

I would try spark plugs first if a little sputter, fuel would be more under load in my thinking, not 100% sure though. Start at cheapest option and work through.
