I use 18" wheels with I *think* 225/45 tires in the summer, and 16" wheels with I *think* 205/55 tires in the winter.

Others have reported similar...

^^ I'd say it depends on how long it's been leaking and how many miles are on the axle. If the boot's been busted for a while, don't take the risk, just replace the axle, it doesn't take any longer....

I do get a low oil light in the dash, so it's definitely engine oil, not diff fluid.

My 2002 325xi doesn't show OAT anywhere on the dashboard, so when the bumper got destroyed...

Got an '02 325xi (Posting in the general forum cause I think this applies to non-xi as well) doing some hissing sounds and throwing "Lean Mix" codes which my Indy guy said could be the Oil Separator...
