Every BMW I bought have received a new cooling system immediately, depending on miles they would also get new MAF and O2 sensors, spark plugs, some get new fuel pump.

Catastrophic failure away...

It can probably be coded for manual or automatic so the proper indicators light up. However, the mileage coding is going to be problematic and you may have to deal with the infamous "tamper dot"....
