I believe that it is condensation. When I went to clean it out I did notice some condensation. I don't do short trips all that often. I use castrol 5w30 change roughly every 3k miles.

TKC: After seeing your gtr hood painted, that might actually be the route I take. Seeing as though I can't find anything else.
