radiator light has nothing to do with the work on the intake. it usually indicates you are a little low on fluid.
You need to read the OBDII codes to see what is setting off the light.

get a digital volt meter (Wally has them for $20). the battery should be at 12.6 static, 13.8 or more once you start your engine. That would prove the alternator is good to go.
