Sounds like your belt tensioner or diverter pulley, I had the same noise in my 330I a week ago and replaced both of them by the alternator.

Check your oil filter housing, mine had a hair size crack on it. it was running down the side of the driverís side engine down to the bottom. I thought it was an oil pan gasket. Hope this helps.
