Plasti dip almost acts like it was made for this. Look up videos on how it works. You mask off a square around the letter and if you're careful, you can peel off everything except for the letters....

No I'm serious. Bought the car for $600. Burnt no oil (which is weird) but was a total piece. Put about $100 (which is a lot in honda parts) and it was dead reliable.
I got a solid 43 mpg in 100%...

The brake reservoir on the e46 isn't pressurized. While he may have put some pressure on it causing it to leak, you can theoretically drive without the cap on.

Clean everything up and have someone pump the brakes while you check for leaks.
If everything looks ok take...
