The vast majority of the members perform this task on their own cars. It is easy to do if you have the mechanical aptitude, many DIY guides on this site and Youtube videos.....parts can be obtained...

Problem solved..........I degreased the exterior...

Problem solved..........I degreased the exterior of the diff again and no more putrid odor. Just some gear oil residue between the fins on the cover.

I would also get and inspection camera to locate the tap and then use a magnet to fish the driving end back out....the hard part, need to grab the tap and engage...

I agree check your bushing and I would also include the rear shock mount, which is located deep inside the wheel well.

I replaced my seals about 5000 miles ago and I noticed the fully benefit after say 2500 miles. Just after the seals replacement, I gained 80% improvement with the final 20% showing up at 2500 miles.
