Are you talking about the center bolts? Were the plug gaskets seated properly when you put the valve cover on? You might have over torqued the bolts which is causing leaking.

Half a quart after 2,200 miles isn't bad for oil consumption. But you still could have a small oil leak that's just starting and you can't see it yet. I would check CCV, oil housing gasket and VCG.
