Has the cooling system been updated, if not that's the first thing I would do. If it's a auto trans and it's never been maintained there could be trouble soon with the extra power.

I would change all of your small vacuum line with the new silicone braided line from the dealer. The old rubber gets brittle and cracks. CCV is a good idea. Those old CCV hose get very brittle too

Is there emissions in your area? You'd never pass with a carb. I'd use a 5 or 6 speed out of a camaro. I'm not sure about hood clearance with a carb

Take a good look at your vacuum lines. They crack after awhile. I put silicone tubing on mine they hold up better. Bmw upgraded to silicone.

Also don't forget to change the air
