DISA & ICV cleanup?

Hi all, I'm changing separator & crank case ventilation tubes. DIYs give advice to clean DISA and ICV as they are removed.

Have you opened DISA and/or ICV to clean them? They both seem solid...

Can you please elaborate this? What you can do if you uncheck UIF? And no limit of about 10 flashes anymore?

I checked mine, it's EWS3. The car is E46 with M54 and MS43, MY 2001. You can see yours by removing small glove box below light switch. It has two screws on top.
