Other one is pass side with old trim removed. You can see it sticks out a long way.

OK - I bit the bullet and pulled it apart to verify whether it was the tensioner as my mechanic insisted.
Tensioner feels fine, no sign of hydraulic leak, belt feels tight, no sign of jumping.

Actually, the Nullarbor was the easiest part of the whole trip.
I know a 320 isn't exactly quick, but it was so effortless to just drop down to third and get around the road...
