Check the DIY section. I believe the wheel need to be off to get better access and pretty sure need to be off ground to free up the control arm. Not sure possible with weight on the front suspension.

Wow, that sucks man. Not sure if it will help but try disconnecting the battery for half an hour then reconnect and try the key again. I don't think you can get the door skin off with it closed...
