cold start update

I recently had the SIB software flashed onto my EGS, but two days later the same cold-start shift issue. The car would freely rev but move in D very very slowly... or roll backwards in the driveway....

I had the same issue with a set of Sport seats I bought to swap into our 325i. I wound up taking the leather seat covers off and going over each of the heating elements and examining the wiring.......

Ahh, yes, looking at the Bentley diagram it looks like you may be right.... think it breaks the circuit once the nub gets worn away, triggering the light.

There shouldn't be a reason why not... My mechanic has used that technique before. The tranny gets pretty hot anyway, I don't think a spot weld of a hex nut on the plug would be harmful to anything...

Sorry to hear that... that fill plug location is a nightmare. I did a drain/fill, with a filter change and believe that's the green-label GM tranny. I didn't do the tranny mount but used a wrench...

If you peel back the wheel well liner on the driver's side you'll see the little drains that are supposed to drain the main dme/abs/etc compartment in the engine bay. It's like the edge of the panel...

They're tan. Crappy basement lighting and the iPhone didn't help. I'll try to take some better pics.

They're the same color as these sports seats which replaced them (seat and dog not for sale)

FS: Tan leather power comfort seats

Pulled from an '03 325i, no serious wear on them or rips or tears. Driver's seat is missing the seatbelt pre-tensioner, I used it for my sport seat swap.

Tan leather, "hellbeige" color code N6HC....
