Intermittant Starting Issue

Today is day #3 at the dealer to try and diagnose an intermittant starting problem. This issue left my daughter stranded out of town twice a couple of weeks ago.

WTB early e46 sedan RH headlight assembly

I broke a tab off of my headlight assembly when removing the turn signal housing to replace a bulb. Now the turn signal housing will not lock in place. I need a pre-facelift E46 RH headlight...

If the engine is running OK, how long am I safe driving before replacing the sensor? I assume that a total failure will just make the car quite running versus doing any major damage.
