ahhhhh gezus, c'mon guys, this is oviously a safety thing,( framed or frameless ) ie, sensors pick up on an obstruction & stop, no different than an electronic garage door, it'll stop too if it picks...

As to anti pinch, I did read somewhere that the door glass has this feature
because you could get your hand/head caught...

I'll promise you, it's not all cosmetic, I got mine in a simliar state. The RH skirt will be damaged as will the radiator support, & chassis rail end for sure & if you dont have the gear to pull this...
