I have a sedan and my rear wheels are 19x9.5 with a 40mm offset and I rub even with my fenders rolled. My tires are 245/35/19.

Balancing doesn't have to do with stability. But you said that your car has just gotten an alignment and everything is within spec. Maybe your tires are tramlining or however you spell it.
