The local dealer was charging me $150 and getbmwparts.com was asking $96. Conclusion: I improvised preparing a metallic base so all screws can get together back again. Good as new and NO money...

Your problem is completely different...your exterior temp sensor may be faulty...it is a VERY common E46 issue...after changing it like 3 times in 11 years...It is quite common...
