BMW had improved their CCV by integrating it tightly into the engine block, getting the CCV hotter and burning off the good.

Yea, that's a good point. It probably is around the same amount of waste heat at low loads (hwy cruising so ~20hp vs ~20hp).
Only at max load would there be more waste heat due to the .5L extra...
