I did mine by the book a few hundred miles ago and followed the Bentley instructions which suggests (doesn't require) you use a medium strength thread sealer if you reuse the bolts.

So I need to buy a new one since I don't have the broken pieces to mend it back together. I thought I dodged the bullet on that one.

If you have the same "umbilical chord" style wire harness that the cabrio model has, the wires inside break from the constant opening and closing.
