I don't know about alternatives but thanks for the heads up. I have one more axle out of 4 that's still on the old pads. I think I'll keep a set on standby just in case.

Bad VR causing the EGS to go into limp mode due to out of spec input voltage. Replace the VR.

Check for EGS codes. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a voltage code stored. Same thing happened...

That's a different issue although the symptoms appear the same. The system won't run below a threshold ambient (below freezing I think) so a reported -40 kills the compressor (by design).
