You might be right about the tuned stock intake. Those scoops though, I can't think of any possible reason how they could be better... The cylinder is a vacuum and the scoop is in no way powerful...

I wouldn't expect any gains from any of these systems, unless you do full CSL with tune. But I think most people are happy with some noise...

But you'd want to make sure it was safe.

I've only ever used the BMW supplied products on mine. The cleaner pulls heaps of dirt out of it. And the protector allows the water to bead instead of soaking in (as above). I do mine every 9ish...

Relatively common issue is for the wires to fray in the roof... Just at the join above the (passenger for Aus / Might be drivers side for US)
