The dampers and springs will work. The rear shock mounts are the same. The only difference is the front strut mount/camber plate. You can use a non-M camber plate in an M3 which is what I'm doing....

Yup. The main differences are the strut mount and front spindle. So M3 springs and dampers will fit a non-M.

Once the overheating idiot light comes on your engine is pretty close to totally screwed. High risk if the temp gauge spends any time in the red.

Not cheap...not quite as bad as crashing your car. As I've found out the hard way, cheapest way to fix is a used engine...part out the old one. Could be done in a day for less than $4k. Then recoup...

S54 Engine Destroyed? Bent connecting rod?

Spun bearing(s). Probably scored the crank and ovaled a rod or two if its that loud. My guess would be new crank, new rods and bearings.

Were the cooling system components brand new before you bought it? If the motor is in fact ticking, misfires across the board...leads me to believe that it is likely that this engine was overheated....

Sweet! I just need the front bar anyway. Finding a used bar for an M is rare. Seems like non-M bars are more common. Might be a good option in the future!
