Thanks! Never took the drive shaft out of the diff...cut the bearing off underneath he car. Had to let the exhaust hang way low, actually pushed it down, to get the new giubo on.

Couldn't agree more...I would recommend anyone doing this remove exhaust first, by a professional or otherwise. I was able to get the job done, crossing my fingers that the damage I did to the shaft...

I think we have different drive shafts...I got mine apart by undoing the 18mm bolt in the u-joint (seems to be less common than what you described with channel locks or a pipe...

Did it twice...but I don't think there is much hope, lots of corrosion. I'm going to try to lower the exhaust (and keep it connected) to get to the guibo and csb. I hope I can get at that stuff...

Thanks for the comments guys...sounds like I got the 325 pads, bummer. Discs are old...near min thickness, so no concern about trashing them. Braking effectiveness seems very good.
