If you want to just test your SAS valve then bypass the switch. You should be getting a constant vacuum.

Or better yet you can activate the switch by supply it with some external 12 VDC.

I think you need to check the electrical connectors, maybe one of them is not seated all the way.

Good to hear you've got it all back together. Yeah! I agree the axle nut is a bit wimpy and being 12 sided and thin didn't help, has the nut be a bit thicker would be nice.
