That's exactly how my fuel pump failed. I got way more MPG than my average then a few days later the car lost power and started backfiring at 65mph.
My fuel pressure was reading about 35-40psi....

I'm pretty sure on my engine, the extra holes were drilled and tapped.
I just put the same amount of bolts and haven't had any leaks.

I have an extra MAF that came out of my 328ci, not sure if it's compatible with the 325. If I remember right the 323,325 and 328 use the same MAF.
