I would also get the ignition switch chhecked. Had a E39 5 series in the workshop the other day with very similar symptoms.

Textar pads are the same as genuine, used them at half the price of genuine pads and never had a problem. If you use cheaper aftermarket pads to save $10 or...

Castrol list Transmax E as the recommended fluid. Used it heaps at work and never had a drama. Not sure on how the price is compared to redline though. Just my 2 cents...
