Thanks, I used a dremel with a cutoff wheel, then cleaned it up with a drum sander in a drill. I took a bit longer than I expected and was surprised how thick it the metal was in that area.

Just going to throw this out there. I had the same sound but it got a bit louder over a short period of time. Ended up having a torn intake boot. Still makes the noise just much quieter now.
