As far as I know, the number 390 means NM capability of the tranny. However, I wouldn't trust that number and push the thing...

Absolutely wrooong :tsk: ... The transfer box on e46 is just a simple free diff with assymetrical gears for front (38%) and rear (62%) axles, providing that torque distribution in ideal conditions....
