It's been remanufactured. You can't blame the original manufacturer for that.

I think the facelift will be something to look forward to. Same on the E90. The 2009+ sedans looked more decent compared to the ones that originally came out (we had one).

Assuming it's not the hose itself then I would tighten it. It IS a crush washer. I would go no more than 1/16 turn....

Unfortunately I haven't seen much "quality aftermarket parts" in BMWs.

It's ultimately your decision but if you're keeping the car, get some decent parts in there.
