75W-80 is an OEM weight.
I prefer to stick with manufacturer recommended weight. In my opinion BMW engineers know what to use.

My OEM M-Tech 2 was 900$ from the dealership. You can get an aftermarket one for a lot cheaper!
The paint job would be between 300-500$ and that includes an installation.

When I switched from the OEM oil into the RedLine (manufacturer specification ) my shifts became much harder on a cold transmission.
I'm going back to the oem oil or the pentosin.

That's correct. I don't feel any difference when the transmission is warmed up.
I don't like the resistance of the shifter while it's cold and slowly warming up. The original oil felt better.

Put some vegetable oil instead of an oem one.
