I think there is a sequence to see if you can clear a temporary fault. I got the same "gear" warning and ended up needing to replace the tranny. Good luck!

May sound odd, but put some vaseline around the seal and see if this helps. If someone spilled soda or something sticky it it may make the seal "bond" to the door. :banghead:
