I think it's the fuel pump too, I had the same noise while driving, remove fuel pump fuse (I think it's fuse #54) turn on the ignition and listen if you hear that noise again.

Just download NCS Expert, use a modified vagcom usb cable that's compatible with INPA and recode the GM5 to defaultsettings, coding will take about 5 seconds.

Normally if you look very close into the fuseholder (fuse #24), you will see that the other end of the fuse is already connected. There is already a pin present....

The problem is your lightswitch, You need a LCM with a coding index CI31 or higher. You can also replace it with a used LCM then reprogram it to your car with BMW Scanner v1.40.

Almost sure you need to synchronize your DME<<->>EWS. Your car will crank but will not start if the ECU's are out of sync. Connect the car to a faultcode reader and see what codes it shows.
