Heh, I got the same sound. Funny thing, I thought it was the DISA valve, but it wasn't as I replaced a perfectly working valve.

Then I thought it might be a rod bearing. Then used a stethoscope...

Part # 08002, Yellow. It's heat resistant once cured.

Found it at AutoZone for $6 for a 2oz tube. Use more than a "thin" coat on both surfaces. Make sure you use blue painters tape to hold up...

I've seen the work they have done for other Bimmers, really good...
