Battery light only comes on because your voltage has dropped, it rarely has anything to do with the actual battery. Can be caused by:

Your alternator or voltage regulator is bad.
Bad connections...

Lowering 1.5" will not blow out the stock shocks in a month unless they're already pretty worn. Anyways he didn't specify what springs/shocks he is using.

I would suggest going for a complete set...

Yes the valet key has a chip in it that is coded to your immobilizer. As for what your issue is/if the EWS could be causing it I'm not sure.

I'm no expert and don't know the purpose of that piece, but I wouldn't take a chance putting your vanos back together without it. I'm sure it's a relatively inexpensive part.

I picked the stiffest springs when I got my set of SGT's and under normal conditions the ride isn't too stiff. If you hit a hard bump then yeah you really feel it then. The firmness is about the same...
