The GC is a better oil than the BMW 5W30...

The GC is a better oil than the BMW 5W30 (basestock, additive package), and both meet LL01 for viscosity, HTHS, and other specs.

First number is startup viscosity. Second is operating viscosity. E46 non M oils needs to be approx 12.0 cSt @ 100C and most XW30's aren't. I'd use an LL01 spec 0/5W 40 and be done with it.

That doesn't help. What are the specs of this oil? Does it meet LL01 or ACEA A3, B3 at least? Again most XW30's from all vendors don't meet spec (too thin, HTHS to low etc)
