That's weird. When it goes about 5 feet and locks up does the engine rev freely or is there a load on the engine? If it revs freely it could be a low fluid problem.

When the trans goes into limp mode it stays in 4th gear that's why it acts very sluggish in limp mode from a stop.

Both are GM automatics, but the part numbers on the transmission are different.

Do you have the temp control on the center vent turned to the 3 blue dots? It shouldn't have anything to do with airflow but definitely temp.

If you want a car to hold together with high HP I'd sell the BMW and get a mustang cobra. The BMW/GM automatic won't hold up.

I hit a big pot hole and destroyed the passenger side front control arm bushing. It was fairly new. Luckily the airbags didn't go off. You might also want to check your bushings.
