On my e39 you can see the bottom of the hose...

On my e39 you can see the bottom of the hose where it attaches to the dipstick with a flashlight so it's easy to keep an eye on. I was surprised when the other end of the hose was split just as bad....

ALERT, ALERT, - DO NOT buy the URO replacement. The new URO part failed after three months. Hose ripped at both ends. Get OEM, your dealer may have them in stock (mine did).
