Is there an easy way to remove the fill plug?

The fill plug on my 323's automatic transmission is in a really tight spot. Anybody had success removing this thing?

I busted my lip doing this....

Here's the trick:

Put the shifter into "2" and pull -- the thing comes right off, something about that angle I guess.

And try not to punch yourself in the face! I repeat: try not to punch...

While the BMW oil is 5w30, it has an additives package and covers a broader range of temperatures than Mobil1 5w30 -- messed up, I know.

Mobil1 0w40, however, is just as good as BMW 5w30. Cheaper...

Haven't heard of Torco, but then again I haven't heard of lots of stuff. One thing you may want to keep in mind is that the "big" companies -- Mobil1, Texaco, etc. -- get the best crude...

In my humble opinion, the e46 is a beautiful design and shouldn't be tampered with cosmetically. And maybe I'm tone deaf, but I never saw justification for dumping a load of money on stereo...
