I bet it's either the serpentine belt tensioner...

I bet it's either the serpentine belt tensioner or idler pulley. Perhaps both are going bad. I doubt if the alternator is making the squealing noise.

How many miles on the car? Have the pulleys...

With the engine absolutely cold, squeeze the upper main cooling hose. If it's easy to squeeze the hose you're ok. If the hose is hard you have a bad head gasket.
