Sounds like your intake elbow may have a crack, common issue, I replaced mine as preventive maintenance but mine was still OK.

I would suggest checking that first since they are close to each...

Hi, the alternator was not the cause...didn't hurt replacing.

I also replaced the p/s pump and my manual belt tensioner. Noise has been long gone. Sorry I forgot to update.

finally installed the new, rebuilt, alternator...

finally installed the new, rebuilt, alternator and sounds great. Also replaced all of my P/S hoses and the reservoir today.

I will get some driving in this week to confirm noise is gone. Sorry...

I haven't had time, kids got really sick. I just got the OFHG a few days ago so I can replace this when replacing the alternator. I will be shocked if its not the alternator bearings causing this...
