Sorry to hear. I just went through this, $3,660 out the door for a new transmission from an independent shop. The dealer wanted $5,000 if i recall correctly.

Well I pulled the trigger on a new (remanufactured) transmission today, comes with a 2.5 year warrenty. Kinda pisses me off, BMW should be able to give a better transmisson, grrrr....only got 93,000...

Agree. I can get a TC for $1,500, just looking to save the extra $1,000 if that's all it is. Will take it a couple of shops on Monday, if they say $2,500 I might take it to avoid the hassle.
