I put 225s on mine (330xi, but exact same wheelset you have) and they tramlined pretty badly when they started to wear. I have 205s on now and they drive a lot better for daily driving.

I've repaired a crack in mine by drilling small holes on either side of the crack and then stitching it shut with zip ties. This has held up for over 40,000 miles now.

Drain fluid, drop pan, remove filter.
Wipe out pan and magnet.
Install new filter, new pan gasket.
