Its time for a new steering wheel as my leather has worn out. Does anyone have any feedback on the recovered wheels on ebay from Lithuania. They look great but I'm skeptical.

INPA will read your error codes for the ac/heat. Dis/GT1 will as well and you can test the operation of heater valve, flap motors and such.

I had to take out the whole knuckle with the...

I had to take out the whole knuckle with the axle. I put it in our shop 20 tonne press. It popped free at about 15,000 lbs scary. Cleaned the splines up and the new axle slid right in.

If i had to do it all over from the start for a daily driver. Best bet is to get new GKN Lobro axles, they are the OEM for the BMW. Some have had luck with the re-manufactured Cardones, but beware...

Probably late to the thread but I grabbed the top plate as well, using a pair of compressors like yours. Worked great. Go slow and keep the compression equal on each side.

Be careful removing the inside panel on the truck lid. The panel has plastic clips that are prone to break (Ask me how I know), Maybe someone has a good method for removal?
