Turns out the car had an oil leak and dripped...

Turns out the car had an oil leak and dripped onto the crank angle sensor connector and caused the problems. Fixed the leak, cleared the code, and it's going strong again. Thanks for the posts.

I might try that. The butt splice is in a really awkward spot and I don't know if the alligator clip will work but it might be my best shot if I can't find a way to manually move the seat.
