There is a rubber grommet where the pump attaches to the tank that probably should be replaced at the same...

No arguments that the OEM is much better but it wasn't worth...

BMW NA only sells OEM hitches for X-class cars. You have to get OEM sedan hitches from Europe or fr a US reseller.

I agree with the others that it could be either of the two pumps but I find it hard to believe your mechanic and dealer couldn't diagnose this.

The few locksmiths that I have found that can cut the keys charge...

Thanks Dmax, that would have been my next check. I didn't do that first because the rest of the lights and trunk release are working. I could be just the reverse light (for now) however.
