I did that but the indent from the plastic will not come out of the leather. Probly when it was hot in the summer it formed in to it? I researched but could not find a way to get the indents out.

Just an FYI, the child seat ruined the leather in my car. Left indents that I hoped would come out but they did not. Mine were booster seats with backs and arms.

You need to treat the top to keep it water proof? Maybe that is why you replace yours every 5-6 years? 12 years on my top and it is outside in snow and rain. Still beads like crazy.
